A former SCR contract employee was arrested for cheating youths with false promises of jobs
Hyderabad: A fraudster has once again misused the name of the Railways to cheat the unemployed. This time a former SCR contract employee was arrested for cheating youths with false promises of jobs in the Railways.
Mohammed Abdul Rahman defrauded 30 people promising them jobs in the SCR as ticket collectors, sweepers, attenders etc and extorted Rs 1 lakh from each of them. He gave them fake appointment letters, fake ID cards and uniforms.
The victims were shocked when they approached the Railways for joining, said taskforce additional DCP Koti Reddy. He said Rahman was arrested by the police earlier in 2007 for a similar offence.
