Hyderabad: An eve teasing incident led to a serious brawl at the City Center Mall at Banjara Hills Road No: 10 on Friday.
A group of six youngsters were allegedly stalking two girls who had come for shopping at the City Center Mall on Friday resulting in a serious brawl between the families of the girls and the youngsters.
Police said that 25-year-old Omer Khan, a private company employee and resident of Dabeerpura in Old city and four of his friends were teasing two girls at the mall. The girls informed their families who reached the spot within minutes and tried to catch the men.
With the men retaliating there was a serious brawl between the families and the youngsters. However, five of the men escaped from the scene. But one Omer Khan was caught and beaten by the families and was later handed over to the Banjara Hills police.
“We have registered a case against Omer Khan and others under Section 324 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code,” said Banjara Hills inspector Murali Krishna. It is suspected that the culprits were repeatedly stalking the victims since some days.
The cops are trying to find out if they are known to each other before. According to the complaint lodged by the victim the other four men will also get arrested soon, the police said.
