Ahmedabad: A video of a sub-inspector of Surat police dancing with a bar girl while being on duty during an event has gone viral on social media, prompting the department to initiate action against him.
“We have initiated inquiry against sub-inspector D.C. Solanki after we saw his video where he was se-en dancing with a bar-girl in Dindoli area in Surat, even when he was on duty,” police inspector J.M. Baloch of Dindoli police station said on Friday.
He had gone for ‘Vishwakarma poojan’ on September 19, where he started dancing with a bar-girl.
“On Thursday, video of him dancing with a bar-girl went viral on ‘Whatsapp’ and then we initiated a departmental inquiry against him,” Mr Baloch added.
The Surat police on Friday submitted the preliminary report to the city police commissioner Rakesh Asthana, who will decide the further course of action.
