Android Lollipop on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for sure
Lollipop v5.0 is the next Google Android operating system that most smartphone users are awaiting to experience. While all newer Android smartphones will come with the Lollipop out of the box, most smartphones, which are around a year old, will definitely see the Android Lollipop in the few upcoming months.
Other smartphones that are around two years old are usually not given updated by the respective manufacturers, unless necessary. However, older smartphones die an early death because of the outdated operating systems.
Same is the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which was expected to die without seeing the new OS update, has been given a different meaning to proceed ahead. Yes, GSMArena has a little information about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 receiving the Lollipop update. However, there is no release date for the Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 2 from Samsung. Samsung has confirmed the update for the Note 2 and the Samsung Finnish website has confirmed the same.
Usually, manufacturers don’t bother about updates for devices that are two years or older. The news about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 getting the Lollipop update is great for those who are still hanging on to their Note 2 smartphones. However, it is still disappointing that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has not yet received the Lollipop update. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is said to receive the Lollipop v5.0.1 directly, while the Galaxy Note 3 is also scheduled to receive the Lollipop update. Other smartphones in the Galaxy range receiving the update for sure are the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy Alpha.
