New Delhi: Jharkhand BJP legislative party on Friday elected Raghubar Das as their leader, which means that Das will the head of BJP government in Jharkhand. Das originally hails from Chhattisgarh, but has made Jharkhand his home. He is also supposedly a close-aide of BJP President Amit Shah.
Raghubar Das won 5 times from Jamshedpur East seat and also held the office of Deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 30 December 2009 to 29 May 2010. Das also served in the NDA government as Development Minister in the state. Raghubar Das also worked with Tata Steel plant in Jamshedpur.
Cases against Raghubar Das
There are two cases pending against Raghubar Das. The first charge relates to Resistance or obstruction to lawful apprehension of another person (IPC Section-225). Second charge is related to house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint (IPC Section-452). In these cases, charges were framed in September and October 2009.
