Government officials have four months to file details on assets

Even the forms for furnishing such declaration are also being re-visited by the government

New Delhi: Officers and staffs of central government have been provided with another four months, till April next year, to file details of their assets and liabilities as per the rules of Lokpal Act.

Even the forms for furnishing such declaration are also being re-visited by the government.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in Thursday extended the date to April 30, 2015. In an order the DoPT said, the formats for submission of statement regarding movable properties and for submission of statement regarding debts and liabilities are also being revised and will be notified.

The move comes following concerns raised by some bureaucrats regarding putting details of their assets and liabilities, including that of their family members, in public domain. The DoPT has also formed a committee to look into the concerns raised by the bureaucrats.
