Sun TV's top executive arrested for alleged sexual harassment
Chennai: Police on Friday arrested a top executive of Sun TV over a sexual harassment allegation.
A team of Central crime branch police officials arrested C Praveen, Chief Operating officer of Sun TV Network, from his home.
"We have booked him under Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Act. He has allegedly been harassing the woman for past two years," a senior Central crime branch official said.
The woman, who quit her job five months ago, held a senior position in the programming section of Surya TV, the Malayalam Channel of Sun Network.
"Both Praveen and the victim hail from Kerala," the official added.
"The victim had furnished evidence including voice and data recordings of conversations," he said, adding, the probe is on.
The channel is tight-lipped about the development.
This is the second sexual harassment charge in a year against a top employee of the Kalanithi Maran-owned channel. Earlier, a news editor was arrested on a similar complaint by an anchor.
