South Zone police arrested 58 financiers following complaints from the victims
HYDERABAD: In a fresh crackdown on the illegal financiers in the city, South Zone police arrested 58 financiers following complaints from the victims. Since the time the special drive started, police has booked 46 cases in the past one-and-half weeks.
Falaknuma Chand Pahalwan’s son Mohammed Maseeh and Zafar Pahalwan’s sons Mohammed Ali and Mohammed Syed are among those arrested, said South Zone DCP V. Satyanarayana.
He said every day, at least three complaints are received from the victims. In one of the major cases, a victim named Hussain approached the cops stating that a financier named Maseeh and his brothers (sons of Chand Pahalwan), were harassing him despite the fact that he had returned a lot more than the amount he had taken.
“He had taken Rs 2 lakh from the financiers two years ago, and had returned around Rs 8 lakh over time. However, the accused demanded Rs 20 lakh,” said Mr Satyanarayana. The accused used the name of Chand Pahalwan and kept on extorting money.
