New Year performances have been the norm for Bollywood actresses for years, but it’s not the same this time around. Big guns, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Sonam Kapoor among others, have chosen to spend time with close friends and family instead of shaking a leg at a big bash this New Year. Sonakshi will be spending time with family in Mumbai and Sonam will be in Dubai with her close ones.
Deepika is already in Mauritius for her holiday with rumoured beau Ranveer Singh. Says an industry insider, “It’s called raising the bar. Why dance for the aam junta when the same moolah can be raised by way of endorsements and other appearances? With time, priorities change and this is a sign of just that.”
Except for Sunny Leone, no other A-list actress has confirmed about her performance at a yearender party this time — not even actresses such as Bipasha Basu, Mallika Sherawat and Malaika Arora Khan to name a few, who are otherwise known for their New Year gigs and appearances and have proved to be great crowd-pullers the last few years.
