I don’t look at numbers: Dhanush
He talks about his upcoming movie with Big B
Mumbai: Dhanush, who was in town to promote Subramanyam B. Tech, the dubbed version of his Tamil film Velaiyilla Pattathar, says that he is open to doing Telugu films. “If I get an interesting and challenging script then I will definitely do a Telugu film,” he says, adding that he hasn’t been approached by a Telugu filmmaker yet.
Dhanush, who is also doing Shamitabh with Amitabh Bachchan, can’t stop praising the megastar. “Amitji is a really cool and friendly person. He gave me my space and never interfered with my work space. He is a perfect co-star,” he says.
Dhanush’s first Hindi film had crossed the Rs 100-crore mark but he says that numbers don’t mean anything for him. “I don’t look at numbers and revenues. I always work hard and try to give my best to every film. If the audience feels happy about my performance and the film, that’s the big one for me,” says Dhanush.
Dhanush’s wife and Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwarya, had directed 3, with him in the lead. After the film failed, Aishwarya decided that she would not direct any more. “It’s not the success or failure of the film that made her decide. When we worked on 3, both of us were on the sets and couldn’t spend much time with the kids. We have since decided that one of us should spend time with them and that’s the reason she didn’t do her next project,” explains Dhanush.
The actor, who has earlier worked with Shruti Haasan, is now working with her sister Akshara, who is debuting in Shamitabh. Asked whether there were any films in the offing with his father-in-law, Dhanush says, “I would love to work with Rajinikanth sir. If the opportunity comes to me I will be happy.” He claims that he will be working for New Year’s and, thus, does not have any specific plans.
