YSRC walks out over Telugu Desam social workers in welfare panels
Hyderabad: The committees set up by the state government for the implementation of its welfare schemes at the village level are filled with Telugu Desam workers in the name of social workers.
The YSRC accused the government of filling up panels with unofficial members and staged a walkout in the Assembly over this issue.
Earlier, finance minister Y. Ramakrishnudu had admitted that unofficial persons had been appointed as members on such committees.
The YSRCP members K Sridhar Reddy among others accused the TD government of filling up the official committees with unofficial members.
Most of these unofficial members have been nominated in the name of social workers but actually they are TD party workers.
YSRC member Jyothula Nehru said several of these so called social workers were TD leaders at village and mandal level who had lost elections.
These TD leaders who were rejected by the people in elections have been nominated on the committees to implement government schemes due to which injustice is being done to eligible beneficiaries. Stating this, the YSRC member staged a walk out from the House.
Earlier, finance minister Y. Ramakrishnudu had admitted that unofficial persons were appointed as members on such committees in tune with the guidelines prescribed by the State and central government for implementation of schemes.
