Status quo on IPS allotment
The tribunal directed the Centre, AP and Telangana to file their counter affidavits within four weeks
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal ordered the Centre, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments to maintain a status quo on the allotment of Abhilasha Bisth, an IPS officer of 1994 batch to the Andhra Pradesh cadre.
The officer moved the tribunal challenging her allotment to AP cadre, seeking to direct the Centre to allot her to Telangana.
Jonnalagadda Sudheer, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that Ms Abhilasha was earlier shown as the senior most among three women officers.
But, later she was pushed down to the second position in the seniority list “illegally”, for which she got posted to AP. The tribunal directed the Centre, AP and Telangana to file their counter affidavits within four weeks.
