K Chandrasekhar Rao okays power plant at Nalgonda

The power plant will provide employment to 20,000 to 30,000 people

Hyderabad: The Telangana government decided to establish a 7,600 mw thermal power plant in Nalgonda district.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who undertook an aerial survey of Bilavarpur, Veerlapalem in Damercherla mandal, decided to establish the units here.

The power plant will be established on about 7,800 acres at a cost of Rs 55,000 crore. “The power plant will provide employment to 20,000 to 30,000 people,” Mr Rao said.

Survey of land for the thermal power plant to be set up jointly by NTPC and Telangana Genco will begin on Wednesday.

“The new power plant will be established in Nalgonda district in Bilavarpur and Veerlapalem area. Chief Minister instructed the officials to begin land survey from Wednesday,” Dr Narasaiah Goud, TRS MP said.
