Who will be Jharkhand's next Chief Minister?
Ranchi: With a clear majority in the Jharkhand Assembly polls, BJP is all set to form the government. However, the big question is: Who will be the next Chief Minister?
Speculative reports suggest Arjun Munda, Saryu Rai and Raghubar Das as strong contenders for the post.
The BJP's parliamentary board is expected to take a final call on Wednesday.
The talk that has been doing the rounds in Jharkhand’s political circle is to have Munda as the Chief Minister, although he seems to be unaware about it.
According to sources, there has been an ongoing level of discomfort between party members, who feel they have lost their say in the party's decision-making.
Raghubar Das has served as the deputy chief minister in 2010. He is supposedly a close-aide of BJP President Amit Shah.
"I am grateful to the people of Jamshedpur for their love and support. I want to assure the people of Jharkhand that Raghubar Das will always be there at their service," Das told the media.
Saryu Rai, who started his political career from colleges in Patna is supported by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
