BJP is open to all option in Jammu and Kashmir, says party President
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has taken an unassailable lead in the Jharkhand Assembly but is losing to Mufti Sayeed’s People’s Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir in a hard fought battle.
Speaking to reporters, BJP President Amit Shah thanked voters in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand for showing confidence in the party and also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for party's victory. He said that BJP supports democracy and will definitely want the popular leaders to form the government.
"I am sure that BJP will form a government with absolute majority in Bihar also. The results match my expectations. We are now closer to achieving a Congress-free India. It is sad that Arjun Munda has lost, but he remains one of our main leaders. For the first time since Jharkhand has been formed, people of the state have given complete majority for a single party. We have achieved the heights of victory in all elections after the Lok Sabha polls," said Amit Shah.
Talking about government formation scenario in the valley, Shah said, " We are open for alliances with all parties. We are not opposed to anybody. We have the highest vote share in J&K. We have achieved the heights of victory in all elections after the Lok Sabha polls."

Though the BJP put up a good fight, its best in the state so far, its gains were mainly in the Jammu region. The party could not make a dent in the Valley where PDP is the clear winner. It is now obvious the PDP is in a position to choose its coalition partner to form the Jammu and Kashmir government.
The National Conference and the Congress have been the major losers. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was defeated in the Sonawar Assembly constituency but won from Beerwah.
In Jharkhand, the BJP alliance is well on course to form the government. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said earlier the party would form governments in both states.
