KBR security gets firm on parking

Man claiming to know minister wasn’t entertained

Hyderabad: A visitor to the KBR Park, who claimed to be a close associate of the Telangana home minister, was miffed when he was not allowed to park his luxury car near the DFO’s office by Forest officials recently, leading to a tussle.

The visitor finally left the park, shelving his plans of enjoying a walk. Following the firing incident on November 19, the TS forest officials, in coordination with West Zone DCP, have banned entry of all vehicles (except those heading for the mosque).

The incident occurred in the second week of December when the visitor insisted on parking his vehicle at the DFO’s office (which many would do earlier) instead at the HMDA parking lot.

Though he tried to throw his weight around, mentioning big names, he was not allowed to park.

“After the November 19 firing incident, as part of safety measures for walkers, the TS forest officials have banned entry of vehicles inside the park. Whether it’s an MLA or IAS, IPS officers or even a judge, no government or private vehicles are allowed, except for a few VVIPs like the CM and Governor.

This visitor claimed to be closely associated with the Home minister but as per the regulations, entry is banned,” said a source.

The KBR authorities, complain about how difficult it is to ask the walkers for tickets or passes.

“Most of them are top guns in the state, asking them would make both parties uncomfortable. It is written behind the membership cards that it is the duty of the visitor to display the card to the officer.

However they don’t,” added forest officials. Walkers at the park are satisfied with the round-the-clock patrolling.

C.S. Reddy, who is a regular walker, said, “On any given day there are 30 policemen and patrolling from 5.00 am up to 8.00 pm even at the parking sites.”
