Couple held for fudging eSigns to take over firm
Hyderabad: An industrialist, his wife, and a company secretary were arrested by Cyberabad police for allegedly taking over a company after fraudulently acquiring its digital signature certificate (DSC).
The accused people forged the DSC and prepared fake minutes of a board meeting, submitted forms and gained control of the company.
The main accused N. Kasthuri Reddy transferred shares of the company in his wife’s and children’s names. Police also arrested a woman IT expert who colluded with the culprits. Cops said the complainants are relatives of the accused.
Apart from Kasthuri Reddy, his wife N. Rama Devi, 38, company secretary L. Dhanujaya Reddy and R. Radhika, 35, an IT expert working with R3e Consulting, were arrested.
Police said two board members of the company Sridhanada Private Limited approached them after they were illegally ousted from the company and their shares grabbed.
“The complainants N. Rajaram Reddy and his brother had incorporated the company in 2010 under the Companies Act and were its absolute owners and shareholders. The accused Rama Devi is their sister,” said B. Srinivas Reddy, additional DCP (crimes).
“Kasthuri Reddy and his wife, N. Rama Devi conspired with company secretary Dhanunjaya Reddy to obtain the digital signature certificates. The company secretary gave an idea about the documents needed for the purpose. Exploiting the relationship with the victims he obtained the documents and submitted the application for the digital signature certificates.
They also took the help of IT expert Radhika for this,” said Mr Srinivas Reddy.
The accused people have been sent to judicial remand after they were booked under IPC and the IT Act.
