Over 760 Air India flights cancelled in past six months
New Delhi: National carrier Air India has cancelled 763 flights and delayed 6,513 flights in the last six months, Government told Rajya Sabha today.
In reply to a question, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said, Air India cancelled 75 flights in June, 178 in July, 347 in August, 189 in September, 115 in October and 159 in November this year as per the DGCA record.
Replying to another question, the Minister said On-Time Performance (OTP)is monitored at the level of Chairman and managing Director of Air India twice a day. All flights on Air India network are monitored continuously on 24x7 basis by the Integrated Operations Control Centre(IOCC), he said.
Chances of possible delays are eliminated by change of aircraft or flight crew/cabin crew pattern, where possible. Besides, daily delays, review meeting is held by IOCC via teleconferences with all regions in order to identify/analyse cause of the flight daelays for corrective actions by the stakeholders.
