Martin Skrtel uploads photo of injured head
Anfield: Martin Skrtel – the hero during Liverpool’s tie against Arsenal here (2-2) on Sunday – uploaded the photograph of the wound on top of his head after being caight by Olivier Giroud’s boot.
He wrote: 'Dissapoiting (sic) with the result but happy to scored that late goal and helped the team to get at least the point'.
The footballer’s injury was treated on the pitch itself . But the man – bandaged by the club’s medical stuff – came back and found the net in the 96th minute with a header for his team in stoppage time.
Liverpool physio Chris Morgan tweeted on Monday morning that it was the 'biggest cut I've been involved in dealing with!!'
He added: 'Only Crouchy versus Sheff U in '07 comes close and he had to come off’ – referring to the head wound Peter Crouch suffered during Liverpool’s 4-0 victory against Sheffield United in 2007.
That was in reference to a head wound that Peter Crouch suffered during Liverpool's 4-0 win against Sheffield United in February 2007.
