No clarity on Hyderabad Metro realignment
HMR has said realignment will increase the cost by Rs 3,000 crore
Hyderabad: There is still no clarity on when political parties will discuss the realignment in Sultan Bazaar, Assembly and old city areas.
The realignment issue had not come up during the second all-party meeting, but the Congress had later suggested that there must not be any changes.
The Telugu Desam and BJP are also keen on the original route for the old city. The MIM, however, is demanding a complete change in alignment in the old city by extending the route by 3.2 km.
Despite discussions with the chief secretary, there has been no outcome. HMR has said realignment will increase the cost by Rs 3,000 crore and cause huge revenue losses to Larsen and Toubro. There has also been no written communication from the state on this.
