BSF recovers nearly 4 Lakh fake Indian currency from Indo-Pak border
Jammu: Border Security Force (BSF) foiled a bid to smuggle fake currency with face value of nearly Rs 4 lakh near Indo-Pak border here, a senior official said.
Acting on specific information, BSF troops carried out search and cordon operation near International Border (IB) in Kharkola Border Out Post (BoP) in R S Pura sector of Jammu district last evening, he said.
During the search, they recovered 2 packets wrapped with yellow coloured tape, 1 packet of cigarette packet of Morvin coy, he said.
On unwrapping, the packets, 399 notes (Fake Indian Currency notes) in the denomination of 1000 were found, he said, adding, recovery was of face value Rs 399000.
An FIR is being lodged in the R S Pura police station and the case is being investigated, he said.
