‘Thumbs up from Mahesh Babu’

Shruti Haasan and Arjun Kapoor talk about the upcoming film Tevar

Arjun Kapoor is currently in Tevar mode. From Ishaqzaade to Gunday, most of his films have seen him in a rugged avatar. Talking about the look that keeps coming back to him, he says, “I find my own small differences in every film I do and I think that’s important. Otherwise, the film becomes boring not just for you, but the audiences too.”

Tevar will always be special because it’s for his home production. “My dad got to know how I work as an actor. I respect him more now because he knows how to differentiate between being a producer and my dad,” he says.

But the star has many more fun moments from the film. “Oh, and this time, I became a real life hero and saved Shruti Haasan’s life,” he says, turning to Shruti and asking, “You didn’t tell them how I saved your life? That’s not just my most special moment from the film, but the highest point of my life.” He explains, “We were shooting for Madamiyan and a horse was on the sets. It was moving towards Shruti, who was unaware, and I just pulled her away.”

As Tevar is based on Mahesh Babu’s film Okkadu, did Arjun interact with him? “I had spoken to him earlier. I was supposed to meet him. He had seen the trailer of the film and I got a thumbs up and text from him” he says.
