After rumours about the change in the release date of I, producer N.V. Prasad, who bought the rights of the film in Telugu, had confirmed that the movie is all set for a 2015 Sankranti release.
However, the latest on the industry grapevine is that the makers of the film are facing another hurdle, and this time from producers of the Telugu film industry.
Confirming the news, a source said that the producers called for a meeting at the film chamber demanding that I should not be released for Sankranti, as there are already a few big-budget Telugu movies set to release during the festive season.
The makers of I have planned the dates so that it does not clash with the multi-starrer Gopala Gopala and has a gap of a week.
Meanwhile, other big movies like Temper and Pataas have already postponed their release dates.
Directed by Shankar, I, which stars Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead roles, is produced by V. Ravichandran under the banner of Aascar Film. The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman.
