While, Dr Yadav claimed that he has sought voluntary retirement as he would not be able to work in an intimidating atmosphere, doctors have threatened to go on strike.

Taking a serious note of the issue, which has snowballed into a major controversy, the BJP suspended Mr Gunjal after issuing him a show cause notice on Thursday night.

The MLA promptly sent a reply to Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, saying, “I did call the CMHO and ask him for the transfer of a male nurse, who is the brother-in-law of a party worker. But I did not threaten or intimidate him. But, yes, I scolded him as I was very angry.”
