Amitabh Bachchan to get ANR award
Actor Amitabh Bachchan will be given the Akkineni Nageswara Rao International Award for 2013.
This was announced by T. Subbarami Reddy at a function in Hyderabad on Saturday.
“ANR wanted to continue this award even after his death. So this will continue for ever. ANR liked and respected Amitabh a lot,” said Subbarami Reddy.
Nagarjuna, too, said that his father wanted the award to continue. “Even the last day before his death, he told us to continue the award.
So we will continue it and I am happy that Amitabh gets this award for 2013. When I sent a letter to Amitabh, he immediately accepted and expressed his happiness,” said the actor.
He added that Amitabh had appeared in a very small role in Manam as ANR liked him. The award ceremony will be held on December 27 at the studio. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will be the chief guest along with Union minister Venkaiah Naidu.
