TSRTC has warned of a two-day strike on December 23 and 24 in Greater Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Telangana Mazdoor Union of TSRTC has warned of a two-day strike on December 23 and 24 in Greater Hyderabad limits.

“A notice has also been given to the management regarding the strike, and initially the union is planning to stage dharnas on December 19 and 20 with red badges,” said TMU working president Thomas Reddy. He added that if the management does not respond to the union’s 32 demands during the two days then workers will go on strike on December 23 and 24.

No buses will operate in the twin cities on these two days.

The management has been given enough time, and the notice was given on November 17. Even after a meeting on December 6 there was no response from the management, the TMU president said.

Union leaders said if the management does not respond even after the two days strike they may continue it and it may also extend to other districts of Telangana.

The main demands of the workers are double wages for double duty, three days leave every month and an end to the illegal suspensions of drivers and conductors.
