Mallika Sherawat not afraid to do bold scenes with Om Puri in 'Dirty Politics'
Mumbai: Director K.C Bokadia’s Dirty Politics, starring Mallika Sherawat, which deals with the Bhanvari Devi sex scandal, is set to release on January 23.
Talking about the film, which got a ‘A’ certificate without any cuts, the director says, “Earlier the CBFC had suggested deleting a few scenes to give it a ‘U/A’ certificate. But we didn’t agree to it as the story revolves around a sex scandal. Our film had faced controversies in cities like Hyderabad (a poster depicting Mallika draped in the tricolour had been strongly objected to) but it will now release everywhere as we have got a clearance from the censor board.”
Talking about the hard hitting dialogues of the film, Bokadia says, “The audiences will definitely identify with these dialogues merely because we have used colloquial terms which are spoken in Rajasthan and other cities... We had set out to present Dirty Politics truthfully.”
About whether Om Puri’s character represents former Rajasthan minister Babulal Nagar, Bokadia says, “The film has a fictitious tale. On reel, Om Puri consented to do a bed scene, owing to the demand of the script, with Mallika Sherawat. And what happens thereafter forms the crux of the story.”
Lastly, he adds, “Mallika, I must confess, obliged us by doing bold and sexy sequences, which mean a lot to the intriguing story line...especially the sexy scene with Om Puri was stunningly performed by Mallika. She definitely understands the depth of the content. She is really a fantastic actress. She will be seen in our next film too, details of which I will update after a while. I am planning a proper release for Dirty Politics.”
