Tantrums and bonding on sets

Here’s the latest gossip from the sets of your favourite television shows...

We hear that actress Vivana Singh who plays Sarika (Apoorva Agnihotri’s girlfriend) in Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Yeh is giving the show’s team a very tough time. A source associated with the show says, “Vivana is very particular regarding her look and costumes on screen, so she takes a lot of time in getting dressed and finalising each look. She is also known for coming late to the shoot and expecting the cast to wait for her. It delays the entire shoot.”

When contacted, however, Vivana denied the claim saying, “I always reach the sets before time and am ready before I’m called for my scenes. My director Sant Ram will vouch for my punctuality.”

We’ll take your word for it Vivana.

Actors usually rush to their vanity vans or makeup rooms after their takes, but the cast of Kumkum Bhagya has a new open lounge in the garden area to itself, where the team unwinds and spends quality time in between shots.

Actor Shabir Ahluwalia, who plays Abhi, says, “We all agreed at once when this idea of making a common place for everyone came about, since we all love working as a team.”

We took a look at the “lounge” too, and given a choice between the lounge and an air-conditioned makeup room, we’re not so sure if we would agree with the cast’s choice.

Actor Milind Gunaji who plays Col Abhyankar, in Everest, is not new to shooting in cold weather.

“I had faced similar conditions during the shoot of J.P. Dutta’s LOC. We had to carry equipment weighing five kilos and climb for three days in Uttarakhand and Uttarkashi,” says the actor, who had to stay in extreme conditions for 20 days during the shoot of Everest.

And working with Ashutosh Gowarikar wasn’t new for the actor either. “We had worked as actors together in a Marathi film before. He was the lead and I had a small role. Ashutosh told me that while casting for the character, I was the first one he visualised. Since we’d worked together before, I knew that he is very particular about what he wants.”
