4 persons killed in car-train collision in Bihar
Nawada: Four persons were killed and many others injured when a car collided with the Howrah-Gaya Express at an unmanned crossing in Nawada district of Bihar on Tuesday, leading to disruption of train services.
The car got entangled with the engine of the Gaya-bound train and was dragged along the tracks.
The accident took place at 8.55 am at an unmanned crossing through which vehicles and pedestrians cross the railway tracks in between Warsaliganj and Nawada, Chief Public Relation Officer(CPRO) Arvind Kumar Rajak said.
The spot where the accident took place is 55 km from Patna and falls under Mugalsarai division of East Central railway zone, the officer said.
Movement of trains has been suspended following the accident.
Rajak said it was an unauthorised crossing and no warning signs, which are otherwise present at railway crossings were there.
