Legendary director K Balachander hospitalised

Chennai: Legendary director K Balachander, 84, has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Kauveri Hospital in Chennai with high fever. Sources said that the veteran had been keeping unwell after son Kailasam’s death a few months ago.
The press note issued by the hospital authorities said, “Veteran film director Mr. K Balachander has developed fever and certain age-related ailments over the past few days. He is being treated at our hospital now. At present he is stable and all necessary treatments are being given.”
Among those who visited him were:Rajinikanth, Kushboo, Mani Ratnam, Manobala and Natarajan. Rajinikanth said, “KB.sir is alright. He smiled at me. Nothing will happen to him. I pray to God for his well being.” Kushboo said, “I saw .KB.sir. He is fine. He looked at me and smiled. Please do not spread rumours,” she added.
