PM Narendra Modi's cover to be beefed up further

Security forces would be intensifying their operations against the Naxals - Sources

New Delhi: Ever since the Modi government assumed charge in May this year they have been adopting a tough policy against the Naxal menace and except the December 1 attack on the CRPF in the Sukma region they have not succeeded in carrying out any major incident.

On the other hand the security forces, particularly the CRPF, have met with a lot of success in its anti-Naxal operations which has resulted in a number of surrenders and recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition.

Sources said the security forces would be intensifying their operations against the Naxals in the coming days in an attempt to get more information on the entire issue. “Since this is an extremely sensitive matter we would like to get to the bottom of it and investigate it thoroughly.

In any case in the wake of these fresh inputs adequate changes have been made in the PM’s security apparatus whenever he travels to a Naxal-dominated state,’’ the official added.
