Delayed MMTS services hit techies
HYDERABAD: Several commuters living in suburban areas, including a large chunk of techies, say that they are not able to reach their workplaces on time due to late running of trains.
Many UP trains coming from North and at the same time other trains starting from Kacheguda and Secunderabad are forced to stop at outer signals, further delaying the suburban trains.
Sources blame this on the lack of infrastructure (particularly double lining). There is also a demand for a second terminal of the Hyderabad division at Malkajgiri.
Priya Shah, a 23-year-old professional who travels from Lingampally to Seethaphalandi said, “Since my MMTS routes is a long one, it is very regular for the train to stop before entering Secunderabad and after leaving the Secunderabad station. It is an unnecessary delay each day due to line clearance issues.”
Similarly, regular traveller from the Nature Care station to Hitec station, BPO employee Priyank B., said that his wait for the train is often extended due to the originating train coming in late.
“On my route both trains, from Kacheguda and Secunderabad, pass, so it’s a bit of a better situation. I also have the SCR's app on my mobile and see it before leaving the house as it takes me 20 minutes to walk to the station.
Yet a train which has originated half an hour back at Kacheguda doesn't reach as per the schedule due to clearance issues,” he said.
