Imtiaz Ali’s brother to direct for Balaji Motion Pictures

Mumbai: Director Imtiaz Ali’s youngest brother Sajid Ali we hear, has been roped in to direct a film for Balaji Motion Pictures. He was earlier signed by John Abraham’s production house to direct a film called Banana, but that has been put on the back burner for now.

Interestingly, the Balaji film that Sajid is set to direct will be co-produced by Imtiaz's estranged wife Preety Ali and Imtiaz will himself step in as the creative director of the film.

“The film is about Laila-Majnu romance and the will tell the tale in a unique manner. Imtiaz is currently busy with his next project Tamasha starring Ranbir and Deepika and will start work on Sajid’s film soon after,” says a source.
