West Bengal minister Mukul Roy also under lens

Prime accused Sudipta Sen’s driver Arvind Singh Chouhan dragged his name into it

New Delhi: Reports emanating from Kolkata indicated that after the arrest of state transport minister Madan Mitra on Friday, Mukul Roy has been keeping a “very low profile”.

In fact, Mr Roy was reportedly absent from an emergency meeting called at the Trinamool office in Kolkata.

The needle of suspicion swung towards Mr Roy when prime accused Sudipta Sen’s driver and assistant Arvind Singh Chouhan dragged his name into it.

He allegedly told the CBI that Mr Roy and Trinamool MP Subhendu Adhikari had met Sudipta before he went into hiding last year as the scam broke.

Chouhan claimed that he was a “witness” to Mukul Roy and West Bengal former DGP Rajat Majumdar holding a meeting with Sudipta Sen on April 5, 2013.

Mr Chouhan was arrested along with Sudipta from Kashmir shortly after the scam came to light. He is currently out on bail.
