VIP passes to be reduced at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams

The temple administration is expecting an unprecedented influx of devotees to the abode
Tirupati: Officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams are gearing up for the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi which coincides with New year’s eve on January 1, 2015. The temple administration is expecting an unprecedented influx of devotees to the abode of Lord Venkateswara this time and is making all efforts to ensure that the important occasion passes off smoothly. TTD officials led by JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju inspected the arrangements at Tirumala on Saturday.
TTD JEO noted that both the auspicious days fall on a Thursday and Friday, which in turn would lead to a reduction in the overall darshan hours for devotees on account of the special rituals to be held inside the Tirumala temple.
Mr Raju added that the administration has decided to suspend ‘Divya darshan’ to trekking devotees on New Year’s eve and Vaikunta Ekadasi, in anticipation of a heavy turnout of devotees.
The TTD JEO said that the temple administration was contemplating reducing the number of ‘VIP passes’ for that day to ensure that most of the common devotees are not denied the privilege of the darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
The temple administration has also decided to cancel privilege darshan for donors, physically challenged, senior citizens, NRIs and others on New Year's eve and Vaikunta Ekadasi.
