Hyderabad: Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy ruled out the shifting the Chanchalguda Jail to Charpally.
The minister was attending the foundation stone laying ceremony of a shopping mall being constructed by the prisons department. He congratulated the department for the reforms they were introducing in jails.
"The prisons department is constructing a shopping mall with a budget of Rs 8 crore. It will sell all the products manufactured by the Chanchalguda j, Charlapally and Warangal jails," said prisons DGP V.K. Singh.
He added the remaining shops will be given on lease to businessmen. This mall will be as good as private shopping malls. The construction will be carried out by the Police Housing Corporation.
