Mehdi told dad his Twitter account has been hacked
Bengaluru: Mehdi Masroor Biswas, 24, who was handling the pro-IS Twitter handle @ShamiWitness, earned an annual package of Rs 5.3 lakh. His parents and two elder sisters live in West Bengal. His father is a retired employee of the WB State Electricity Board.”
The father of Mehdi said, “One reporter asked me about it last night. Then I contacted him and inquired. My son said he did not understand how it has happened. He said that his Internet account is hacked. I don’t believe that my son has any link with IS.”
Bengaluru DG & IGP Lalrokhuma Pachuau said that Biswas confessed that he was operating @ShamiWitness account.
“He got interested in the developments in the Levant region, which consists of Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Gaza Strip, Egypt and Libya. He had a 60 GB monthly net connection and used to read all news about IS,” police said.
