UP govt is likely to ban the proposed ‘Ghar-Wapsi’ programme in Aligarh on Dec 25
Lucknow: The Akhilesh government in Uttar Pradesh has practically made up its mind to ban the proposed ‘Ghar-Wapsi’ programme in Aligarh on December 25 in which around 500 Muslims are to be re-converted to Hinduism.

A senior police official said that in view of the Agra incident, no such programmes would be allowed henceforth.

“We have issued an alert asking all district officials to keep an eye on such programmes and deal with them firmly. The Chief Minister has directed that all attempts to disturb the law and order situation must be thwarted,” the police official said.
