Amir Vadsariya performs record breaking feat to raise funds for his son’s treatment
Hyderabad: On Friday, 32-year-old Amir K. Vadsariya set out with a target of completing a record-breaking 1,300 sit ups in an hour, but thanks to his willpower he managed a whopping 1,450.
Says Amir, “It took me four years of practise to achieve this target. I first started off by doing 10 to 20 sit ups per day, and gradually increased it to 200, and as time passed I was able to complete 1,000 sit ups in an hour.”
Amir took up the challenge for the Limca Book of Records. He says, “I have done around 1,700 in an hour while practicing at home.” Amir, an electrician who earns around Rs 10,000 a month, is doing all this for his son.
“My son suffers from muscular dystrophy and I am doing all this to raise funds for his treatment. I was told that he would need to undergo treatment abroad to start walking again.”
He ensures that he doesn’t miss out on his one-hour practise every day and his next aim is to create a Guinness world record to raise more funds for his son.
