Hyderabad: A wedding function at the N Convention hall on Friday witnessed a fight between two Congress leaders.
Former Jubilee Hills MLA P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy attacked Kalwakurthy MLA Vamsichander Reddy and his gunmen at the wedding. Both the leaders registered cases against the other at Madhapur police station.
The video footage showed Mr Vishnuvardhan Reddy slapping MLA Mr Vamsichander Reddy and punching his gunmen for trying to stop him. The fight continued along with the supporters of Mr Vishnuvardhan Reddy joining him to attack the MLA.
Soon after the quarrel, MLA Mr Vamsichander Reddy lodged a complaint at the police station. He was followed by Mr Vishnuvardhan Reddy.
“Based on the complaint lodged by MLA Vamsichander Reddy against former MLA Vishnuvardhan Reddy, we have registered a case under Sections 324, 506 and 34 and as per the complaint lodged by the former MLA, we have registered a case under Sections 341, 323, 290 and 506,” inspector Narsimulu said adding that the CCTV footage are being checked.
Mr Vishnu said the wedding was of his brother-in-law Shashank Reddy and MLA Vamsi was not invited. He also said that for no reason Vamsi and his men had attacked him.
Meanwhile, Vamsi said, “I don’t need to prove anything. There were CCTV cameras at the wedding hall. Everybody saw how he was behaving.”
