West Bengal deputy speaker threatens doctor
KOLKATA: Deputy Speaker of West Bengal Legislative Assembly Sonali Guha, has been accused of threatening a doctor in Howrah who was also allegedly assaulted by Trinamool workers in presence of police.
Ms Guha confronted Dr Nagendra Rai the president of a residents’ association of a building in Howrah over a non-functioning lift.
She threatened to lock up his flat and “koi baap ka aulad” would not be able to reopen it. A cellphone recording reveals Ms Guha her saying, “I am the CM’s person...I am the government.”
The deputy Speaker then taunted Dr Rai to call Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh if he wanted for help. “But keep in mind this is Bengal where Mamata Banerjee’s writ runs,” she said.
Ms Guha was incensed because the lift of the building did not operate causing inconvenience to her close associate.
