Three injured in acid attack in West Bengal
Siliguri: Three persons, including two women, suffered burn injuries when two bike-borne miscreants allegedly threw acid at them, police said on Friday.
The two women were traveling in a car at Sevoke Road here last night when the miscreants with their faces covered by helmet came close to their car, threw acid and fled, they said.
The women and the driver of the car suffered burn injuries and were rushed to a private hospital here where the condition of the women is stated to be serious.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Siliguri T A Mitra said the matter is being investigated.
TMC MLA of Siliguri Rudranath Bhattacharya today visited the private hospital where the two women and the driver are admitted.
Former West Bengal Urban Development minister Ashok Bhattacharya also visited the hospital and demanded that the state government should bear the cost of treatment of the three injured.
