Tirupati: A ‘live-in’ couple, who got into a relationship, after meeting through a social media platform, committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Kotha Indlu near Punganur in Chittoor district past midnight on Wednesday.
According to Punganur police, K. Rajkumar, 27, hailing from Punganur and G. Suguna from Kadapa got acquainted on Facebook, became friends and finally entered into a ‘live-in’ relationship around three months ago.
The woman was already married and was living in Kadapa, she deserted her husband and reached Punganur and entered into a ‘live-in’ relationship with Rajkumar.
While the girl concealed the fact that she was already married, Rajkumar too concealed that he was in a relationship with a girl of his parent’s choice.
Meanwhile, though the reason is yet to be ascertained by the police, the couple consumed pesticide past midnight on Wednesday.
The loud cries of the couple woke the neighbours who sensed something wrong and rushed to the couple’s house.
The neighbours shifted them to the Punganur area hospital, where they were declared brought dead.
