Andhra Pradesh bans all unlicenced web based taxi services
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh transport department has banned all web-based taxi services which do not possess a valid licence.
In a statement released on Thursday, AP transport commissioner G. Anantha Ramu said that as per the advisory released by the ministry of home affairs, it has been directed to ensure that operations of such services are stopped and public is also advised not to hire any transport service provided by the web-based companies which are not licenced by the state government.
“Instructions were issued to officials in all districts to ensure that no such services operate in their districts. They are also directed to conduct regular checks against various types of taxi services operating in their area to find out whether they are violating norms,” he said.
