Teachers who are found to have secured appointments using fraudulent methods

Thiruvananthapuram: Cabinet has set March 28, 2015 deadline for schools mainly in aided sector, for correcting the disparity in the actual number of students attending classes and those who figure in registers.

The decision taken as part of the teachers package is to streamline the education sector. The government has directed education department to prepare a separate list of teachers being moved to Teachers Bank from government and aided schools across the state. Those teachers who lose their posts because of shortage of students in classes would be shifted to Teachers Bank.

All future appointments in government and aided schools would be through redeployment of teachers who form pat of teachers bank. A comprehensive verification exercise to ascertain the student strength would be carried out for deciding the number of teachers to be included in teachers bank. This would be based on the UID details of students that the schools claimed to have enrolled.

The government decided to fix teacher student ratio at 1: 45 from 2014-15 academic year onwards. Besides, all appointments to the valid posts that arose between 2011-12 and 2014-15 made by school managers would be approved by the government. In case if these teachers lose the jobs in future because of scarcity of students then these posts would ot be moved to teachrs bank.

Teachers who are found to have secured appointments using fraudulent methods like fudging UID details of students or violating age limit criteria and educational qualification, would be shunted out from teachers bank. School managers would be liable to pay for the losses suffered by government on account of appointment of such teachers.

Strict action will be taken if any school is found accommodating teachers in violation of the orders by district education officers.
