Police constable’s wife found dead in Hussainsagar lake

Her family alleged that her husband had killed her and threw the body into the lake
Hyderabad: The wife of a Telangana State Special Police constable was found dead in Hussainsagar on Thursday. Her family alleged that her husband had killed her and threw the body into the lake.
The victim, S. Radha, 30, daughter of an ECIL employee, had gone missing on December 6 from her in-laws' house in Tarnaka. Her husband, D. Venkat Ramana, 34, a constable of the 1st battalion, had been allegedly harassing her for dowry since a year, her family alleged.
The OU police has now booked a case against Venkat for dowry death and took him to custody. ACP Laxminarayana said Venkat had been harassing Radha for a dowry of Rs 4 lakh.
“After she went missing from his home in Tarnaka we received a complaint and a missing case was registered,” the ACP said. Radha had approached the CCS women PS and had lodged a complaint against him, and the police had called the couple for counselling. However, Venkat skipped the counseling and threatened her. Radha’s father S. Nageswar Rao alleged that Venkat used to beat her and sent her home.
"On December 6, he called and said that she is not at home in Tarnaka. We suspect that he must have killed her," he said. The couple got married in 2009 and have two children.
