Now stream videos offline on YouTube
Google has launched an offline feature in its YouTube app. The new feature allows a user to download videos, save them and watch them later without downloading again, in turn saving on recurring data download charges.
Essentially, when a user watches a video on the YouTube app, they will see an offline icon on the edge of the video, clicking on which will download the video on the devices, enabling the user to watch it in next 48 hours without any data connection.
However, there is a slight snag in it. Since the list of videos available for offline videos is limited, the new feature does not apply to every video. Therefore in order to monetize the initiative, the offline feature will also be ad-supported.
The new offline YouTube feature is available for both iOS and Android users.
