A printer was allegedly murdered by his financier for failing to pay interest
Hyderabad: A printer was allegedly murdered by his financier for failing to pay interest at Chetta Bazaar in Mirchowk on Wednesday. The accused and his associates attacked him with sharp weapons in the press. He sustained grave injuries and was shifted to hospital where he succumbed.
The deceased, Mohammed Javeed, 27, who runs a printing press named Moin Printing and Binding Works at Mirchowk is a resident of Yakuthpura. The accused, Hassan Jabri, 37, is the owner of Shaheen Printing Press in the same area.
Mirchowk police said that Hassan is also a financier. It is suspected that Mohammed Javeed had borrowed Rs 50,000 from the financier and promised to repay it in installments.
Though he had paid installments earlier he failed to do so recently. He had not been paying since the last five months. Even after repeated requests he failed to do so, police said.
On Wednesday morning Hassan and his associates entered Javeed’s shop and attacked him.
“They stabbed him on the stomach, hands and other parts. The locals who saw this came to his rescue and shifted him to the Osmania General Hospital where he succumbed,” said inspector V. Yadagiri Reddy.
Earlier, an attempt to murder case was registered and later altered to murder after Javeed’s death. Cops said they are investigating all angles including business rivalry as both presses function in the same area.
Sources said the accused have been taken into custody. However, the cops are yet to confirm. The victim’s body was sent for postmortem.
