Their pairing in Kutumb and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was loved by audiences. They’ve even teamed up for reality shows like Nach Baliye. Now real-life husband-wife duo Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan are together in the show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi. While Gauri plays the lead on the show, Hiten is a recent entrant.
“This was long overdue,” says Hiten of working with Gauri again. “It is always comfortable and easy to work with your life-partner because the chemistry is already there. You don’t have to work towards it, whereas if you have to make an effort, then it can look artificial and forced on screen.”
What about critics who feel that off screen chemistry rarely translates into onscreen sparks? “Well, we first shot to the limelight as an onscreen couple and it was later that our off screen relationship developed,” points out Hiten. “I’d beg to differ from the common perception that real-life soul mates don’t make a good pair on camera.”
Quiz Hiten a little about how his romance with Gauri blossomed and he says, “It was love at first sight and luckily, neither of us had to propose as we both knew we wanted to stay together... Gauri is my whole world. She is my anchor.”
