Rupee down 15 paise against dollar in early trade
BSE Sensex declined by 113.17 points, or 0.41 per cent, to 27,717.93 in early trade
Mumbai: Continuing its falling streak for the fourth straight day, the rupee weakened by another 15 paise to trade at 62.17 against the US dollar in early trade on December 11 due to sustained demand for the American currency from importers. The dollar's gains against other currencies overseas and a lower opening in the domestic equity market also put pressure on the local unit, forex dealers said.
The rupee had lost 14 paise to end at over one-week low of 62.02 against the greenback yesterday on sustained dollar demand from importers and fresh capital outflows. Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex declined by 113.17 points, or 0.41 per cent, to 27,717.93 in early trade on December 11.
